Wedding blankets have traditionally been woven by a bridal family in anticipation of a wedding. The bride then wears the blanket around her neck as a cape during the wedding ceremony.

This Handira blanket has been entirely handwoven by the women part of the Cooperative Marmoucha. Every blanket is then washed.
